Eines der wichtigsten Elemente in der Fotografie ist Licht. Doch der Umgang mit Licht ist weder in der Theorie, noch in der Praxis einfach zu erlernen. Diesem Problem hat sich die Software set.a.light 3D Studio angenommen. Die kommerzielle Software Fotografie-Anfängern und Profis, Lichtsetzung in einer Studioatmosphäre zu simulieren.
Vorweg sei gesagt, die Software ist kein Schrott. Sie ist richtig gut durchdacht und die Lichtsimulation funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Software von Elixxier erinnert an klassische 3D Programme, was sie ja auch ist. Ihr habt also die Möglichkeit Modelle, die Kamera und vor allem das Licht, frei in einem 3D-Raum zu simulieren. Hierbei habt ihr zahllose Möglichkeiten die Elemente untereinander zu verschieben, zu tauschen und zu verändern.
Die Versionen & Preise von set.a.light 3D
Die Software ist nicht kostenlos, ist aber für den Lerneffekt den ihr haben sollte, wenn ihr damit übt, auch nicht teuer. Die kleine Version „Basic“ kostet zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt 39,70 Euro. Sie sollte für den Einstieg auch erstmal reichen. Sie beinhaltet insgesamt weniger Lichtelemente, weniger Modelle und kleinere Räume. Die Studio Edition „3D Studio“ kostet 137,70 Euro udn beinhaltet entsprechend mehr Licht, Raum und Modelle und ist auch in weiteren Funktionen weniger eingeschränkt.
Mehr zu den Versionen findet ihr hier. Ein Upgrade von der kleinen zur großen Version ist übrigens jederzeit gegen einen Aufpreis von 99,70 Euro möglich. Somit macht ihr keinen Fehler wenn ihr erstmal mit der Basic Version beginnt.
Die Bedienung
„Elixxier“ bietet verschiedene Videotutorials an. Davon einige kurze Schnelleinstiegsvideos. Diese würde ich empfehlen anzuschauen, denn danach ist man sofort in der Lage mit der Software zu arbeiten. Ansonsten ist die Oberfläche schnell erklärt. Ihr habt ein Setaufbau-Fenster. Hier habt ihr stets den Überblick über euer Set und könnt die Elemente per Maus hin und her positionieren, einstellen, erweitern oder austauschen. Über das Kamerafenster (welches auch schnell mal mit dem Überblickfenster getauscht werden kann), könnt ihr die Aufnahme der Fotokamera kontrollieren. Hier greifen die Einstellungen, die ihr bezüglich der Kamera eingestellt habt (ähnlich wie bei LiveView einer echten Kamera). Ein weiteres Fenster gibt euch eine Draufsicht über den Studioaufbau. In diesem Fenster können natürlich auch direkt veränderungen vorgenommen werden. Oben, Links und unten findet ihr jede Menge weitere Einstellungen für Models, Raum, Lichtformer, Kamera und vieles mehr.
Vorwissen Lichtsetzung: Im besten Falle sollte man schon einiges an Basicwissen bzgl. Lichtsetzung mitbringen. Somit ist es praktisch zu wissen, wie sich die verschiedenen Lichtquellen auswirken. Aber auch hier hat elixxier mitgedacht und bietet euch schon in der Testphase von 15 Tagen einen sehr einfachen und ausführlichen Email-Kurs zum Thema Lichtsetzung an.
Die Räume
Set.a.light bietet in der Studio Edition bis zu 3 Raumgrößen für kleine, mittlere und große Studios. Ihr könnt zwischen verschiedenen Hintergründen wählen und sogar Kulissenelemente wie z.B. ein Sofa in Euer Set bauen.
Das Licht
Die Software bieten in der Studio-Edition viele verschiedene Lichtformer. Ihr habt mehrere Lichtformer für den klassischen Studioaufbau zur verfügung. Unter anderem diverse Reflektoren, einen Akzenttube für sehr gerichtetes Licht, einen Beautydish, diverse Oktaboxen, Softboxen und Reflektorschirme.
Aber auch die Studioanfänger bzw. Hobbyfotografen kommen nicht zu kurz. Somit beinhaltet die Software in beiden Versionen auch einen einfachen Blitz mit diversen Lichtformern wie Oktaboxen, Schirmen und Striplight. Der kleine Blitz ist natürlich entsprechend leistungsschwächer.. alles wie im richtigen Studio eben.Neben den verschiedenen Lichtarten erhaltet ihr unter Hilfsmittel auch diverse Aufheller und Reflektoren, welche ich auch mal zu den Lichtformern zähle.
Models
Es gibt mehrere unterschiedliche Models. Viele Frauen, aber auch ein paar Männer. Ihr könnt die Models unterschiedliche Posen einnehmen lassen, sie frei im 3D Raum positionieren, ihnen unterschiedliche Hauttöne verpassen, den Glanz der Haut verändern, die Haarfarbe anpassen, die Mimik verändern, die Kleidung farblich verändern und sie an-, oder ausziehen. Hier wurde an alles gedacht.
Kameraeinstellungen
Was wäre die ganze Studiosimulation ohne die Kameraeinstellungen. Auch daran hat elixxier gedacht. Somit könnt Ihr den Crop-Faktor (oder natürlich Vollformat), das Seitenverhältnis, die Brennweite, die Verschlusszeit, die ISO und auch die Blende manuell einstellen. All diese Einstellungen wirken sich natürlich auch auf die restliche Lichtsetzung im Studio mit den Lichtformern aus.
Export des Studiosetups
Wenn ihr das Lichtsetup mit der Software abgeschlossen habt, also der Studioaufbau so ist, wie es euch gefällt, könnt ihr das Setup genau so exportieren. Dabei werden alle Einstellungen, alle Lichtformer und alle Settings genau übernommen und in eine Datei gespeichert. Zudem könnt ihr das gerenderte Foto, bzw. die gerenderten Fotos als Snapshot speichern und als Jpeg oder PDF Datei ausdrucken.
Diese PDF Datei könnt ihr dann ausdrucken und als Anleitung mit ins Studio nehmen. Ich habe eine solche Datei mal hier angehängt, damit ihr sie euch anschauen könnt.
Fazit
Bitte hab das Nachsehen, dass ich hier nicht alle Funktionen beschreiben kann. Set.a.light 3D ist wirklich sehr vielfältig. Ich habe die Software auch erst seit kurzem zum Test und kenne die Macken noch nicht. Ansonsten ist das Tool sehr gut durchdacht. Man merkt sofort dass bei der Entwicklung mit professionellen Studiofotografen zusammengearbeitet wurde. Die Simulation ermöglicht das Lernen von realistischer Lichtsetzung ohne über ein eigenes Studio zu verfügen. Aber auch Fotografen mit Studio können die Lichtsetzung, welche sie im Kopf haben, vorher mit der Software simulieren und testen.
Set.a.light 3D ist in beiden Versionen ein absoluter Tipp von mir. Für 37 Euro ist man zwar in Equipment und Funktionen eingeschränkt, aber man kann erstmal nichts falsch machen. Zudem gibt es eine Demoversion für 15 Tage mit allen Funktionalitäten der Studio Version. Das Tool gibt es für Mac und PC. Bitte beachtet die Systemvoraussetzungen, da es sich um ein 3D Programm handelt.
